She is also ice-strengthened, has a fast open-water speed of 14.5 knots, and as such is a great option for trips to the polar regions.

WHY WE LIKE HER

  • STABLE

Super stable – the Ioffe sports a combination of external stabilizers on her hull and a built-in ballast trimming system so that you stay as comfortable as possible while exploring the polar regions

  • QUIET

Scandinavian-built for use as a research vessel in Finlandyou’ll find there is very little ambient noise while traveling on the Ioffe, which also means minimal disturbance to wildlife.

  • AMENITIES

Nice amenities  she has a Finnish dry-heat sauna, a plunge pool, a hot water Jacuzzi, a small gymnasium and day spa with massage therapist. Not bad for a research vessel!

ANTARCTICA

Everything you need to know about traveling to Antarctica. Including what time of the season is best for what you’re most keen to see.

ARCTIC

Everything you need to know about traveling to the Arctic. Which is a bit like our proverbial backyard/second home (because we’ve lived there).

WHAT TO BRING

Everything you need to know about what to bring on your trip. Including unusual stuff like why you might want goggles in Antarctica, or extra batteries in Svalbard.
